Poultry

One of our suppliers of poultry is Packington Free Range just across the border into Staffordshire. Packington believe that in today's modern and hectic society, too much emphasis is on speedy results and low cost, large scale production, regardless of the impact on animal welfare and the environment. That's why at Packington Free Range they only rear chickens with care, attention, and with the welfare of the birds always coming first. We usually only have the whole birds in from Packington but if you would like to order other cuts please let us know and we can order them in for you.

Our standard barn-reared whole chickens are superb quality and provide a great value meal for the family at a lower cost than the free range birds.

We stock Gressingham Duck Breasts & legs. The Gressingham duck is a unique breed that first came about when the small but flavourful wild Mallard was crossed with the larger Pekin duck giving a meaty, succulent duck with more breast meat, less fat and a rich gamey flavour. Duck breast are a great meal — simply score, season, sear, roast, rest and enjoy! Like steak duck can be served pink or well done.

You can also buy fresh, free range eggs at Oxtail & Trotter. Supplied by Ben Eggs near Market Drayton. Ben's chickens are treated impeccably, "a combination of natural feeding, fresh air & freedom give my eggs a rich & delicious taste"
